Possibly the cutest thing ever is a filly My Little Pony character.
This is Twilight sparkle, the reference picture is from the season two finale when Twilight Looks up at her big brother Shining Armor.
Filly Twilight Sparkle loves reading and learning about magic. When she is young she struggles to even pick up small items and has to concentrate very hard to even turn a page in her book.

Filly Twilight does not play with other ponies. This is before she learns the value and magic of friendship. She does however play with her big brother who teaches her many things about life and magic.

As always This is fan art and My little pony and all its super cute characters belong to Hasbro.

This is a cartoon and book series I remember from my childhood. I had several of the books which I read before bed and the first book of the series I read was all about Trampy so that's why I created this cross stitch.

Of course I claim no ownership of this character The cartoon belongs to Filmfair (I think)
This is Fan art in cross stitch design form.
I wonder if anyone will sew it?

This design is cushion sized. However as a nod to the theme it could make a really great shoe bag. You could either make the bag from scratch or buy a cloth bag and sew this on the front. Be very careful to hem the edges if you are adding this design to a child bag. Loose fluffy edges look cool but do not hold up to a childs rough and tumble. To be sure a piece of fabric or wide ribbon can be sewn all the way along the edge of the aida/evenweave to stop the edges being caught while the bag is being carried around.

Finished arsenal Logo cross stitch

 Finished arsenal Logo cross stitch

This is a cross stitch made for two football mad boys. The logo comes from this website:
http://www.alitadesigns.com/cross-stitch/patterns/019.php

Take a look this design is very nice and not too difficult. Lots of arsenal logo designs I looked at were very large but this one is just right. Plus the logo is so recognisable and simple even when half finished people (football fans in the pub) cane to ask if I was sewing what they thought I was sewing.

To go with the logo I designed two sets of Arsenal kits. The red kit is the Home kit and the blue is Away.
I am going to add the names of the boys one above each football kit and their date of birth under the logo itself.

Try taking the Football kit outlines I have used here and changing it the the colours of your favourite team. A simplified version of each teams kit colours can be found by searching for them on Wikipedia.

D20 cross stitch design

D20 cross stitch design

A small D20 design. This size is suitable for some coasters and cards.
I only put one of the numbers on the dice to make the design simpler to sew.

This dice is generally used for Dungeons and Dragons and other roleplay games. For anyone who doesn't play rolling a 20 on the dice is known as a 'Critical hit' or a 'Critical success' and rolling it usually means you will do very well that turn.

For the roleplayers out there may I recommend this very interesting and in depth blog:

The Sword and Torch Inn is where news regarding interesting rules, settings, concepts and games is available for the roleplay and gaming community.

This blog has many fascinating thoughts on rules particularly ones suitable for Dungeons and dragons and Pathfinder systems. This blog takes a fairly modular format to rules setting as it allows you to pick and choose any suggested rulesets or house rules to add to your own campaign as you see fit. There are also posts discussing other aspects of roleplay and (a little self advertisement) a guest post by yours truly of a table of 100 random places or situations to wake up after a night of drinking in a fantasy setting.

Pink and purple baby girl sampler cross stitch design

Pink and purple baby girl sampler cross stitch design

A large baby sampler full of girly colours
I have left a large gap for the name so a long name can fit there too. I recommend hearts to fill in the gap if the name is shorter. Also in the bottom left there is a gap for the initials so use any font you like. You could also put a personal message here instead.

Feel free to replace any of the squares with something more personal. So perhaps if the family has a pet they could be included in the sampler. How about instruments if the parents play music?

Try asking the new babies older siblings for suggestions of what they would add for the baby. This will make the sampler extra special especially when they get to tell the baby which things they suggested.

Fairy baby sampler design

Fairy baby sampler design
A little fairy baby sampler design.
If you want to add a name which is longer or shorter you can adjust the amount of flowers/ mushrooms in between the names or simply add more space in-between the items.
The alphabet I got from one of my many cross stitch books so I won't be providing a whole set of letters. I left the name I used in my sampler to show where the name you want to use will fit.

The fairy needs a face too. But I will leave that off to make the design easier to read.

The flowers and mushrooms also make great borders or quick stitches for cards too.

Derpy Hooves cross stitch design

Derpy Hooves cross stitch design

This is a character from My little pony friendship is magic.
Her name is Derpy Hooves (though it may also be Ditzy Doo)

Colour Used in these areas: DMC Number Anchor Number
Black Eyes 310 403
Dark blue Main body outline 931 921
Light blue Main body 3753 1031
Mid blue Leg in shade 3756 128
Dark yellow Hair outline 472 253
Yellow Hair 745 300
White Eyes, Cutie mark 5200 1
This design was drawn originally with Anchor colours in my program. Use anchor threads to get the closest match. I used a conversion chart to get the DMC numbers.

Please let me know if any colours are off and I will amend them in the chart.

She came about from an animation error in the very first episode giving a cute pegasis wonky eyes. The fans loved her and named her and soon she started appearing more in the show. In some episodes you can try and spot her in crowds or hidden somewhere.
She loves to eat muffins and some say that she delivers the post in Ponyville.

I love this character so much. She is cute and friendly and enthusiastic. She may be a little clumsy but that does not stop all the other ponies from letting her join in with all their pony games.

This stitch is cushion sized. You need two shades of yellow, four of the light blue, black and white.
The space over her tail looks just right to put a name in if you were giving this to a friend.

The pony belongs to Hasbro. This is fan art made to share with fans and stitchers alike
