True Crime and Red Wine with evidence markers cross stitched bookmark design

Evidence Marker Alphabet designs.

Hello everyone,

This week I have a request from a friend. She loves to relax with a glass of red wine while listening to true crime podcasts or reading true crime books so we thought it would be fun to mix these two loves together in a bookmark. So when she has finished her chapter she can pop this little bookmark in to keep her place for next time.

I have also included an alphabet to be used on the evidence marker in the main design. In this way you could use the first initial of the person who will receive this if you are making a gift as an easy customization. Though any letter or number will do if you don't have anyone particular in mind.

I have not included white in the design inside the wine glass. You may stitch this if you like or if you are stitching the design on coloured aida to ensure the glass stands out. I left it off so that on white or light coloured aida the lack of a block of stitching makes the glass look more transparent and also makes the design really quick to sew as the bulk of the design is backstitch which I usually find very quick to do.

If you are a fan of true crime podcasts to listen to while cross stitching here are a few of my favourites to listen to:

My Favorite Murder - A true crime comedy podcast hosted by Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark where they talk about true crime and also a slice of life. I am very fond of the positive attitude towards mental heath, medication and therapy The fanbase of this podcast call themselves 'Murderinos'

Last Podcast on the left - This podcast has a lot of true crime comedy content but if you fancy a lighter change check out the episodes on conspiricy theories, bigfoot, creepypasta and strange news. Theres something for most people in this podcast and all episodes have easy comedy banter throughout.

Lore - Lore is a podcast delving into folklore. Each story is well explained and researched. I find each one a fascinating listen as the stories are varied throughout the podcasts long run.

Casefile - This true crime podcast deep dives into each true crime tale. With detailed descriptions throughout the story.
This isn't a comedy podcast and can occasionally give some details of disturbing topics but for someone interested in true crime these podcasts are a great introduction to a great amount of cases.

Wake up and be awesome, rooster crowing cross stitch design

Cross stitch with grid
Thread numbers

Hello everyone,

I hope you like this design today. It is based on a sketch by a friend who wanted to make a new take on the phrase Wake up and be awesome. I love this idea as a rooster is an ultimate sign to wake up as they would crow at the dawn being natures alarm clock. Though being a city dweller I just leave my bedroom curtains open so that the sun can wake me up naturally. :)

I designed this with very few colours as the challenge was to make it mostly back and white. But I thought I would add colour to the rooster and around the motovational phrase to give it some oomph in the design.

Anyway I hope you have fun stitching this,
Much love and happy stitching

Hello everyone,

This design was inspired by a very special litte boy. He has medical difficulties throughout his life but strives to be positive every day. This Phrase, Wake up and be awesome is one of his favorite phrases. I love this phrase as it inspires several things including to start the day as you wish to go on. Get up, stretch and proceed to be awesome in everything you do. It is a brilliant positive phrase which I find inspiring so I hope it will inspire you too. Its something so simple but powerful at the same time if you think about it.

If you don't have the exact threads don't worry just go for this design with whatever colors you think feels right as sunsets are all sorts of colours after all. nature provides us with a different display every day.

Much Love and happy stitching

Gemma xx
