Supercuties - Little Horse cross stitch design

Supercuties - Little Horse cross stitch design

Hi all heres a little horse from a series of sketches I did a while back. They are called Supercuties since that's what my Niece decided they should be called.
This time I made two different sized versions, one cushion sized and the little one below is 50 stitches across just right for a little card or patch for a book.

This design was originally charted in Anchor colours so to get the closest to the original picture. DMC colours are converted from Anchor.

In this design I tried to ensure that there were as few colours as possible to keep it simple to cross stitch for those who don't want to have to but loads of threads just for one design. When I first started stitching I found such designs so daunting because I'd  need to buy and change between so many different threads

This is a cross stitch design of Big Macintosh (sometimes spelt Big McIntosh) a member of the Apple Family in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. He is a large but gentle and quiet pony who works on Sweet Apple Acres.
This Cross stitch design is simple to sew with whole stitches only. I think this picture would make a lovely wall hanging since he is in a pose which looks like a portrait.
I'd love to draw a family portrait for the Apple family, maybe see if I can design it in sepia tone like an old Victorian portrait. I think big mac may look brilliant in a top hat for this idea.

My Little Pony and all characters belong to Hasbro, I make not claim to these characters. This picture is fan art and is free to share with cross stitching My Little Pony fans.

A big stash of Cross stitched cards from 2014

Hello everyone,

This week I thought I would show a bunch of cross stitched cards I finished off last year. I couldn't post them up until they were all sent though. :p I'd hate to spoil the surprise for my friends and family.
All of these designs are from the book: Two-Hour Cross-Stitch 515 Fabulous designs

I wrote a review of this book in an earlier post. Heres a link if you want to check it out:
http://buzybobbins.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/craft-book-review-two-hour-cross-stitch.html

This is a collection of flower themed cards. A few of these cards are reserved for my Nan, Mum and Stepmum but the rest are 'emergency cards'. Does anyone else have those times when you realize you just haven't stitched a card but have no time to quickly make one? After a few of those times I always make a couple of spare cards in each batch just in case.

In this batch of cards you can see a couple examples of the patterns which are quick to stitch because they make effective use of un-stitched space within the pattern. For example the tulip on the pink card at the top and the blue flower in the bottom right.  In these patterns you just stitch the outlines of the flowers without spending the extra time filling them in. They look really effective and can create a bigger card with no extra time than the smaller, more detailed flowers.

I just love the animal designs in this book. The bunnies and cats are my particular favourites.
In the book the rabbit pattern on the left is just a simple plain pink but with a plain pattern like this variegated thread really makes a great effect.
I may try that black cat pattern again in a variegated thread, maybe a nice orange colour so that it looks like a ginger cat.

I also sewed a number of the Christmas patterns in this book and made up the cards for them for last Christmas. Heres a link to the post: http://buzybobbins.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/my-stash-of-cross-stitched-christmas.html

This is a cross stitch design of one of my favourite Rarity costumes the Hipster outfit from the Episode Sweet and Elite. If you are having trouble finding it in the episode it is shown very very briefly during the song 'Becoming Popular' but then again theis doesn't seem to be unusual for rarity to have a costume shown for only briefly and in this song there are just loads of lovely Rarity outfits.

The reason I like this one is because it also comes with a sweet new hairdo for her I have previously wondered if Raritys very bouncy mane would ever lie straight. Plus its very classy without being over the top or quite frilly like some of the large dresses we see her wear. It helps to show that Rarity is a pony of varied tastes.

This costume is also a very easy cosplay. I saw a few people at the London expo this year in this outfit complete with a purple wig and some accessory with the cutie mark on such as a necklace or badge.
I did spot this wonderful take on this outfit on deviantart: Cosplay picture
I just love the cutie mark is worked into the design of the dress and how that wig is just spot on with the curls. Its facinating to see the different interpretations of these characters in cosplay. From people dressed as horses in quad suits to completely humanised versions of the outfits I think the community has seen it all.

My Little Pony and all characters belong to Hasbro, I make not claim to these characters. This picture is fan art and is free to share with cross stitching My Little Pony fans.

Hi there. This is an old design I dug out of the depths of my computer from before I got a bit of practice at this whole cross stitch designing lark.
I think this action pose would look awesome on a school gym kit bag using the aida as a patch. Or if  feeling ambitious using soluble or waste canvas

Heres the more recent Teen Titans picture I did

This is a Cross stitch design of Cherilee as a cute filly. When I saw her this young in the show I just knew I had to draw a picture of it. It would be really lovely to see who was Cherilees teacher? She said she was inspired to teach but I wander who by? She must have had a wonderful kind caring pony to show her just how fun learning can be.
I would also love to see more of 80s Cherilee with her awesome spiky hair do and leg warmers. Does anyone want a design for 80s Cherilee? Let me know in the comments.

Pinkie Pie and characters from My little Pony: Friendship is Magic belong to Hasbro. This is fan art for other cross stitching fans of the show to share. I claim no rights to the character.
