Hello everyone,

The clocks have just changed meaning it is now getting well on its way towards summer, the dark days of winter are behind us now. It'll soon be time for nice walks on the beach and lovely Barbeques with friends.

So today I thought I would share a bright and happy design to wish all of my readers a nice day. It can be stitched to cheer a friend or to put on the wall to remind you to have a nice day. Don't forget you can change up the threads to use all of your favorite colours so that it is guaranteed to make you smile as you stitch with all your favorite colours on one design.

Much love and happy stitching xx

Hello everyone,

Today I was considering getting out the bunnys and cute chicks but really wanted to draw something quite dynamic before getting stuck into cute Easter cross stitches.
So heres a space ship blasting off into space. This design looks like its on a cloth badge as if it could be sewn onto the jumpsuit of a space explorer.
This design could be a nice bright addition to the bedroom of a kid who is mad about space, perhaps sewn on to a cushion so they can dream of space adventures every night. I'd quite like to see this on the back of a jacket. I wonder if it will look good on my denim jacket?

Love in fancy lettering cross stitch design

Love in fancy lettering cross stitch design

Colour Anchor Thread numbers DMC thread numbers
Red 334 606

Hello everyone,

Here's another simple single colour design which uses whole stitches only. This colour choice is just a suggestion since love is commonly associated with nice shades of red but this one wold work well in your favorite shade of pink or practically any colour thread you'd like to use.

I designed this to be something quick to whip up for a large card - Mothers day is coming up this week after all! Who is still stitching their Mothers day card and may be stitching until midnight if you aren't already on your way to finishing the card? Luckily I'm already finished so I'm not rushing for the post like I did last year.

This would also make quite a striking Valentines day card even though I posted this just a little too late for Valentines this year maybe someone will find this post in time for next year

Spiral heart cross stitch design for Mothers Day cards

Spiral heart cross stitch design for Mothers Day cards

Hello everyone,

Heres a little sneak peek of the Mothers Day card I have just finished and will be posting out very soon.

For reference the top rose design is not one of mine, it came from a wonderful book called Crafting cross stitch cards by Sue Cook. The rose was originally part of a engagement card pattern but I thought it was so pretty by itself that I just stitched it without the rest of the Engagement card design.
If you like stitching cards I'd heartily recommend getting a copy of this book, its got a wide variety of small card sized patterns. You will be spoilt for choice for every occasion and terribly quick and satisfying to finish.

The middle section is a pretty piece of card. I'm afraid I cannot say where its from since it was a part of a big bunch of scraps I got given from a fellow crafter. It really helps fill in the card by using one of the apertures (minimizing the amount of stitching needed to fill the card if cards need to be finished quickly)

The final square in this card is filled with my own design. I wanted to stitch a heart but to get my card posted in time I didn't want to fill in the entire heart because I simply didn't have time. So instead I turned it into a spiral .

Silhouette of a sitting panther cross stitch design

Black 403

Hello everyone,

Today here is a nice simple silhouette design of a Panther relaxing. This design is just the right size for a cross stitched bookmark. Imagine this beautiful creature resting inside the pages of your favourite novel.

As always you can change up the thread numbers to make this any colour you'd like but I much prefer the simple black in this design which can look quite striking against most colours of aida.

Hello everyone,

Today I decided to draw a super cute unicorn because who doesn't need a dose of cute once in a while?
If you don't like to cross stitch a whole load of white onto white aida (I know a few people who tell me that this is a nightmare) there are a couple of changes you can make. This design would look nice on some pastel coloured aida so the white will be easier to sew on it. Alternately the main colour of the unicorn could be changed to a lovely pale pink or blue (or any other light colour really) so that you can have fun sewing this colour instead of a large area of white.

I may have to sew this one for my own bedroom, its already got its fair share of unicorns so will fit right in. :)

Hello everyone,

Today I completed yet another listen of the audiobook for Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. I just love this book so much so I thought it would be fun to do a cross stitch design of this most famous scene where two homing missiles get turned into other things by the impossibility drive of the Heart of Gold.

The first missile gets turned into a rather surprised sperm whale who wants to know about the world it is created into. It wants to become friends with everything even the ground that it is hurtling toward until its rather unfortunate and messy demise.

The second missile gets turned into a bowl of Petunias who thinks 'Oh no, Not again!' Heres the full quote for that:

Curiously enough, the only thing that went through the mind of the bowl of petunias as it fell was Oh no, not again. Many people have speculated that if we knew exactly why the bowl of petunias had thought that we would know a lot more about the nature of the universe than we do now.
