Bright yellow School bus cross stitch design

Yellow school bus cross stitch design

Thread numbers

Hello Everyone

Today I have a bright yellow school bus cross stitch design for you. This design is quite large but easy to stitch as it only has whole stitches, no backstitch, French knots or half stitches here.

This was designed with a young boys bedroom in mind.\Not only does he love all vehicles he loves bright colours and bold shapes so I incorporated it all together in this one.

The yellow is based off a American school bus but it will be easy to change up the colours of the design to your childs favourite colour or to look like a different type of bus.

Much love and happy stitching

Hello everyone,

Its been a while but here is a rainbow coloured design for pride month.

The phrase is a slightly changed version of 'Come out, Come out wherever you are' which is a phrase children will say when trying to find their friends during a game of hide and seek.

This phrase is intended to be a fun way to show that nobody should feel the need to hide their true selves. Isn't life more fun and interesting when everyone can be their unique selves? Lets all be kind and inclusive. :)

I am hoping to do another version of this phrase with a more detailed border soon when I think of a good idea for it.

Hello Everyone,

On one of my favourite cross stitch Facebook groups a great conversation started about this design idea. So I cannot take credit for the Stabulous phrase but I ran with it and created this design.

I have charted this up in all regular DMC but if you are feeling brave you could use a few metallic colours on the sparkles. Some seed beads in the center of the sparkles or dotted throughout the hair would also add a magical touch. I will leave these choices up to the stitcher as I know some people find metallic thread and beads fiddily. Plus you can customize the design as you fee fit, Be creative and see what you come up with.

Much Love and happy stitching.

Hello everyone,

My favourite season Halloween is fast approaching. I can't wait to get some snacks and watch some horror movies to celebrate the whole month
So today I thought I'd share a skeleton Cameo, its something you may find in a haunted house where all the family portraits turn into something spooky. I was inspired a little by the haunted mansion at Disneyland Paris. I remember being fascinated as a child by some pictures in the queue line which turn from normal old fashioned portraits to spooky skeletons, ghosts and vampires as you walk past. Im sure I missed a few places in the queue walking backwards and forwards to watch the portraits change.
I really want to go back to Disneyland one day. I wonder if those portraits are still there?

Much love and happy stitching

Wake up and be awesome, rooster crowing cross stitch design

Cross stitch with grid
Thread numbers

Hello everyone,

I hope you like this design today. It is based on a sketch by a friend who wanted to make a new take on the phrase Wake up and be awesome. I love this idea as a rooster is an ultimate sign to wake up as they would crow at the dawn being natures alarm clock. Though being a city dweller I just leave my bedroom curtains open so that the sun can wake me up naturally. :)

I designed this with very few colours as the challenge was to make it mostly back and white. But I thought I would add colour to the rooster and around the motovational phrase to give it some oomph in the design.

Anyway I hope you have fun stitching this,
Much love and happy stitching

Hello everyone,

This design was inspired by a very special litte boy. He has medical difficulties throughout his life but strives to be positive every day. This Phrase, Wake up and be awesome is one of his favorite phrases. I love this phrase as it inspires several things including to start the day as you wish to go on. Get up, stretch and proceed to be awesome in everything you do. It is a brilliant positive phrase which I find inspiring so I hope it will inspire you too. Its something so simple but powerful at the same time if you think about it.

If you don't have the exact threads don't worry just go for this design with whatever colors you think feels right as sunsets are all sorts of colours after all. nature provides us with a different display every day.

Much Love and happy stitching

Hello everyone,

Today I have a space themed cross stitch for you. These can be used as individual motifs or all together as one big stitch. I designed this with a space mad child in mind. When I was a child I was fascinated with space, I had those glow in the dark stars and made sure to place them on my ceiling in the shape of constellations so I could practice spotting them before I sleep. I even had a scientific star chart on my wall to Make sure I could correctly identify all constellations in the northern hemisphere.
So this chart is for all the kids like I was who loved to learn about space.

Hello everyone,

Today I thought I'd share a fun cross stitch design of a pretty orange tailed mermaid, perfect for a fantasy lovers bedroom as a cushion or in a cute frame.
To add a little sparkle why not try replacing one of the yellows in the scales with a metallic gold thread?

I wanted to do a nice fantasy design which did not revolve around pink as you see that a lot on fantasy cross stitch so this made a nice change.
I have a few more ideas for mermaid designs so if you like to stitch fish tailed friends then keep checking back.

Hello everyone. This is a cross stitch design of Excel from Excel Saga
I chose to do this design after digging out an old denim jacket I had tried to embroider on with this exact picture. Its been in my cupboard for so long that it doesn't fit me any more.
However I still LOVE Excel Saga and want to show everyone this new design for the Excel Saga jacket (2nd try). Its only about 10 years after I started the first one.

For anyone who hasn't seen it Excel Saga it is a rather random and energetic Anime based on a manga comic written and illustrated by Rikdo Koshi. The author appears in every episode and declares what type of story it will be this time. It ranges from Horror and sci fi to a really cool Micky take of 90s western animation. (this episode is awesome) Then the characters have to carry out that episodes story within the confines of the new genre leading to certain hilarity each time. In addition this anime is very self aware and it plays with themes common in anime as well as this episodes genre.

This was actually the first Anime I really watched which wasnt one of the common kids shows around in the 90s. (like Pokemon) I knew very little of the tropes they were referencing and several references to other popular anime and manga flew right over my head at the time. However I still thoroughly enjoyed it and once Excel Saga started me on the path of being an anime fan I came back to it once in a while able to appreciate even more of the jokes, references and subtle nods to other media making this a series that many anime fans should at least try.

This anime does contain loads of specifically Japanese references but on the DVDs there is a cultural reference mode where a small pop up appears throughout each episode to explain references either to Japanese culture, media or subtleties in language which may not be apparent in the direct translation. This is a really cool feature to turn on while watching the series a second time. It'll really give you a few 'Oh so thats what that was' moments as well as a whole new bunch of laughs as a few more jokes just click into place. I also learnt a few things about Japanese culture along the way.
In addition on the DVD I owned there were two sets of English translations, one direct and one which is more tailored to a western audience. This means that some jokes are told in rather different ways in each of the sets of subtitles making it yet another way to rewatch the series (and like I need any more excuses to get out this set of DVDs)
