This is another instalment of Kids counting animals: 8 Elephants

With four baby elephants and four adult elephants all walking around the world you can have loads of counting fun. This one is definitely my favourite of the kids counting animals series. I hope that those lovely baby elephants will be as fun to cross stitch as I found them to draw.

It may be a little ambitious but I would love to sew all of the kids counting animals and make them into a large quilt. I bet that my lovely niece would really like it and practice her counting on many of the pictures. :) Maybe we can use it to help her learn the names of all the animals too.

The final installment of kids counting animals. This time its twelve pawprints. These are pawprints which could be from a cat or a dog or even something more exotic like a tiger or a lion.
So why not stitch this for your kids to count and see what they think has passed by?

Another Instalment of Kids animal counting, I forgot to draw them all in order but no matter. This is 11 slimy snails. This design uses french knots for the eyes of the snails but feel free to use seed beads or just stop at the backstitch if you don't feel confident with french knots.
Best of all this design uses only 4 colours of threads! The Letters can be any colour if you want to stitch it to match other decorations in a room. I chose this shade of green because it reminded me of the leaves in my garden where I normally find the snails hanging out.

I had so much fun drawing this design it was nice to imagine where all of the cute little snails would crawl about on the letters and have the L have a little bit bitten out of it. :)
This design was inspired by a friend of mine who just loves snails, she has sculptures of snails all over her house and even had a pet African land snail. Its surprisingly big compared to the teeny ones which live in my garden.
I think that this design may make a really cute picture to go on my friends wall if we can find a space between all of the other snail items. When making this one up I'd definitely use a nice light wooden frame so that the frame does not drown out the colours in the cross stitching itself.

This is the second installment of my new series of Kids animal counting pictures. These two giraffes are on the look out for some tasty leaves to eat.

One of these giraffes on its own can make a lovely large card for an animal loving friend. Try having a brown or yellow ribbon tied around the centre of the card or adding a green fringe at the bottom to show grass.

This is a start of a brand new series for me called Kids animal counting. Half of the fun of a counting picture it to be able to count the number shown. So to start with heres an easy one for the kids: One Hippo.

This picture is cushion sized and may look brilliant with other animal themed counting pictures together in a quilt or in a set of pillows. Alternatively just use the hippo picture in a smaller design for someone who loves animals.
