How to make an Evil purple Minion Christmas bauble

Hello everyone
I'm back with another Minion themed tutorial, theres really not enough Minion items in my house right now! So I just had to come back with a little more Minion crafts

Remember: Kids will need adult supervision for this make since it requires cutting and sticking.

What you will need:
Purple Christmas baubles
Thin Black ribbon
Felt in Grey, white and black
Purple Tinsel
Craft glue - I used ordinary PVA clue for mine but a stronger glue will make your baubles sturdier for years to come.
Scissors

Here are the baubles I used, this can work with shiny, glittery or other types of baubles, just choose which ones you like or have spare in your decorations box. I used a small piece of scrappy purple tinsel. It was an old piece and looked a little short for the Christmas tree so this was an awesome way to recycle it.

Step 1:

Follow the steps for creating the Goggles out of ribbon and felt gluing the items onto your purple baubles (thats steps 1 - 3) and then hop back over to this page.

Step 2:

Let your goggles dry a while so they don't come out of place while making the next parts

Cut a strip of your Tinsel to Surround the hanging loop of your bauble.

As shown above apply a layer of glue to the very top of the bauble and wait for it to become tacky. Then apply the tinsel to the glue. I had to hold it tight to the bauble for several minutes to ensure it stayed firm.

Step 3:

Once the tinsel has dried on its time to make the mouth.

Simply cut shapes from your black felt to create the mouth and don't forget to use small pieces of white for the teeth. For the evil minions renember they often have their mouths open and their teeth sticking out.

This is a part where you can experiment to find your favourite facial expression out of the many the Evil minions pull. You know this will be a great excuse to watch Despicable Me 2 again!

I hope you have fun with this little tutorial, I know its nowhere near Christmas at the moment but these little guys can be displayed at any time of year as well as decorating the Christmas tree.

How to make a Minion Birthday card

Hello everyone,
This month I made a sweet Birthday card for my friend who is a big fan of the Minions so heres a little tutorial on how to make your own.

What you will need:

Scissors
Glue (I used a glue stick, Ignore the PVA in the picture I took that before I found where I put the glue sticks)
Scrap paper
Black felt tip pen
Grey Felt or paper
A yellow card (hopefully you can get a matching yellow envelope)

Paper in black, white and brown though you may want green if you wish to make a card designed around Bob, to use for his one green eye.

Step 1:
On your scrap paper draw out a set of circles.
You will need one large circle for the eye, a smaller circle for the iris and an even smaller one for the pupil.
Then a circle which is larger than the eye with another inside for the goggles.
I used several cups to draw around

Cut these circles out and ensure that they fit onto your card. if they are too big or too small try drawing some more circles on the scrap paper until you feel it is right. This will help you save your coloured paper for the final card.
Renember if you are making a card of a minion with two eyes instead of one the two eyes are generally smaller than one so make the circles smaller for this variation.

Step 2:
Take the ring for the goggles and use it as a template to cut it out of your grey paper or felt. If cutting out of felt it is easier to do so if you pin the paper to the felt to keep it still as you cut.
Then cut out the rest of the circles
The largest in white
The middle one in Brown
The smallest in black.

Step 3:

Take your card and round out the top two corners as shown in the below picture.

Step 4:

Glue the white circle on to the card slightly above half way up.

Step 5:

Next cut two rectangles of black paper. They need to go between the edge of the white circle and the edges of the card when glued on. These represent the band which holds the Minions goggles on.

Step 6:

Glue on your circle of grey paper/ felt, make sure it covers the edges of the white circle and no white peeks out from behind it.

Step 7:

Glue on your Iris and pupil and allow the glue to dry before the next step.

Step 8:
Now for the fun part, take your black pen and draw on the mouth and hair of your Minion.
It may well be a good excuse to re-watch the Minions movie to work out what expression and hair cut you want to use. :)

Step 9:

Finally don't forget to write inside your card. Here are a few Phrases in Minion language you may find useful for this:

Minion language -> English

Bello -> Hello

Para Tu -> For you

Bi-do -> I'm sorry

Poopeye! -> Goodbye!

Muak Muak Muak -> Kiss Kiss?

Banana! -> Banana!

How to make a simple Minions Christmas bauble

Hello everyone,
It seems like minions are everywhere these days but I realised there are no Minions on my Christmas tree nor the trees of my friends so I set about to solve this. :)

Heres a tutorial on how to decorate some baubles of your own. This method requires some cutting out so young children will need some adult assistance. However the adult could always cut out the shapes in advance allowing children to stick them on with child safe glue. I checked this worked with my child safe PVA glue and the baubles have been holding up without being heavily handled. However this can also be made with stronger craft glue for a sturdier finish if they are going to be given as presents.

What you will need:

Gold or Yellow baubles.

Felt in Grey, White and Black

Thin black ribbon

Scissors

Glue (I used PVA glue but a stronger craft glue can also be used)

Step 1:
Take the black ribbon and glue it all the way around the middle of the bauble and allow this to dry.
This will represent the strap of the goggles that each minion wears.

Step 2:

Cut out a large circle of grey felt and a slightly smaller circle of white felt. You will need one set for each eye your minion has.

Glue these circles on. It is recomended to use the circles to cover the area the ribbons overlap to help your bauble look neat.

Step 3:

Cut very small circles of black felt for the pupil and glue one on each eye.

Step 4:

Lastly cut out shapes from your black felt to become the mouths and hair.

This is a fun excuse to rewatch the movies to work out what expressions you want to use and hairstyles to copy.
