Hello everyone,

This week I have a request from a friend. She loves to relax with a glass of red wine while listening to true crime podcasts or reading true crime books so we thought it would be fun to mix these two loves together in a bookmark. So when she has finished her chapter she can pop this little bookmark in to keep her place for next time.

I have also included an alphabet to be used on the evidence marker in the main design. In this way you could use the first initial of the person who will receive this if you are making a gift as an easy customization. Though any letter or number will do if you don't have anyone particular in mind.

I have not included white in the design inside the wine glass. You may stitch this if you like or if you are stitching the design on coloured aida to ensure the glass stands out. I left it off so that on white or light coloured aida the lack of a block of stitching makes the glass look more transparent and also makes the design really quick to sew as the bulk of the design is backstitch which I usually find very quick to do.

My Favorite Murder  https://myfavoritemurder.com/ - A true crime comedy podcast hosted by Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark where they talk about true crime and also a slice of life. I am very fond of the positive attitude towards mental heath, medication and therapy The fanbase of this podcast call themselves 'Murderinos' 

Last Podcast on the left https://www.lastpodcastontheleft.com/ - This podcast has a lot of true crime comedy content but if you fancy a lighter change check out the episodes on conspiricy theories, bigfoot, creepypasta and strange news. Theres something for most people in this podcast and all episodes have easy comedy banter throughout. 

Lore https://www.lorepodcast.com/ - Lore is a podcast delving into folklore. Each story is well explained and researched. I find each one a fascinating listen as the stories are varied throughout the podcasts long run. 

Casefile https://casefilepodcast.com/ - This true crime podcast deep dives into each true crime tale. With detailed descriptions throughout the story.

This isn't a comedy podcast and can occasionally give some details of disturbing topics but for someone interested in true crime these podcasts are a great introduction to a great amount of cases.

Hello everyone,

Today here is a nice simple silhouette design of a Panther relaxing. This design is just the right size for a cross stitched bookmark. Imagine this beautiful creature resting inside the pages of your favourite novel.

As always you can change up the thread numbers to make this any colour you'd like but I much prefer the simple black in this design which can look quite striking against most colours of aida.

Hello everyone,

I am currently wishing for summer to finally arrive, its been cold, wet, windy and miserable. So to cheer myself up I designed this cute little ice cream cone bookmark to remind me of lovely warm beach holidays.
This will be perfect for my summer beach reading, or the book I will take with me on the long journey to warmer climates. I'll sew one for my friends to mut change up the colours of the scoops to be their favourite flavours of ice cream.

If you are sewing this design for a fun greetings card it would be fun to use beads on the top of the scoops along with the coloured stitches to look even more like sprinkles. I left them off the bookmark version since little beads could dent the pages if squashed inside a book but on a nice card it will add a nice sparkle and a little dimenstion to the stitch.

I really should start getting my easter designs ready soon but with the weather it has been more like the depths of winter this week. Perhaps more excuse to stay in and stitch!

Hello everyone,

Today we have a small design suitable for an itty bitty bookmark of a witches bookshelf, complete with a potion bottle, spell-books and the witches familiar a tiny mouse who likes to taste the potions. 

Feel free to change the colours of the books to any you have spare, this design will be great for using up little bits of thread you have left over from other projects.

Hello everyone
This week we have a nice Celtic knot book mark cross stitch. This would be perfect in a book of myths and legends wouldn't it? 
I was inspire by my friends holiday snaps, she visited all kinds of monuments and museums and brought back some wonderful pictures showing celtic carvings and writing from all over her travels in Ireland. This design is loosely based on one of her pictures, I say loosely because it took about 10 attempts to get this one right I swear the ends of the design just didn't line up neatly so many times. A few tweaks here and there and it decides not to line up in a different place, after multiple attempts and many calming cups of tea I finally get it all to match and line up. :) 
If this design proves to be popular I may give a celtic knot another go but for now its time to move on to a celtic alphabet I have been admiring from the pictures.

Hi everyone, are you all getting ready for Christmas?

This design was made while remembering the poem 'Twas the night before Christmas'. Of course everyone knows this first part of the poem. It was in the week running up until Christmas and I was helping to look after my friends little girl while my friend was getting the last bits for Christmas dinner. We watched a lovely animated version of the poem showing Father Christmas delivering presents.

However this led to the lovely little Chloe to ask a whole bunch of questions about Father Christmas.
Well, I has to think fast and I ended up asking her a few times how she thinks he does it. This is what we came up with.

Father Christmas' list of good and naughty children would be far too big if it was all written down. So he has an Ipad (like Chloe does) with all of the good and naughty children which he can tick off as he delivers his presents. I imagine he even has his own app for this purpose.

There is more than one Santa, there must be at least four Santas! When I asked Chloe how she knew this she told me that this was very easy. When her and Mum went to town there was a Santa near the big tree, one in John Lewis, one in Toys R Us and another in a different shop. So they must all work together to deliver the presents. This makes lots of sense, why didn't I think of this when I was small?
