Hello Everyone,

Today I want to present to you a cross stitch design of a cute little cat cactus or should it be a catus?

I wanted to challenge myself to make a design that was small and detailed without getting too crowded with backstitch.

Much love and Happy Stotching

Gemma xx

Hello everyone,

Today I bring you a motif of a White faced black Spanish chicken. SIne I made this design featuring a crowing rooster Wake up and be awesome, rooster crowing cross stitch design I have been looking up various breeds of chicken. There are so many lovely types of them so I had to draw one!

This Rooster design makes use of backstitch to make the fluffy tail. I do wonder if Roosters spend a long time grooming their feathers to remain all shiny and handsome for the hens.

Would you like me to draw some more chickens?

Much Love and Happy stitching

Hello everyone,

Since its almost Easter I thought I'd share a cute little spring lamb perfect for cheerful greetings cards. One thing I love about Easter is that it helps celebrate the start of spring when the days become warmer and all the baby animals are born. Little lambs are so cute, they always seem to have so much energy since they run and jump about all over the place. This is such a difference to the adults who seem quite happy to stand and graze.

Yellow duck in the rain cross stitch design inspired by The Little Yellow Duck Project

Yellow duck in the rain cross stitch design inspired by The Little Yellow Duck Project

Hello everyone,

This sweet little Yellow Duck is enjoying the rain and splashing around in a puddle while wearing her cute little wellington boots.

The design was inspired by The Little Yellow Duck Project, check out the web page here:
https://thelittleyellowduckproject.org/

The Little Yellow Duck Project has a simple aim, to encourage people to share acts of kindness.
Crafters can create little yellow ducks to leave around your local area to brighten up someones day, each duck should have a label attached encouraging the lucky finders to add their find to the map on the website. There have been ducks found all over the world including tiny islands and even Antarctica.

While on the website the finders are encouraged to pass along a kindness of their own. They can also find out about blood and organ donation in their area as an example of something kind they can do if they are able.

There are many ways to contribute by making a little yellow duck using a variety of crafts, the website has a whole collection of free patterns for embroidery, knitting, crotchet and now some cross stitch designs.

This duck is only one of the designs I drew for this charity. In fact there are another 6 little yellow duck designs to download.  Why not head over to The Little Yellow Duck project website to find out all about this wonderful cause and download the PDF from the patterns list page to see if you can use your cross stitching skills to help out. To find the patterns head over to
https://thelittleyellowduckproject.org/ and click on the patterns drop down menu to see everything available.

Hello everyone,

Its been a while since I posted, unfortunately work and other life matters had taken up most of the time I would spend cross stitch designing. So heres a cross stitch design of a pair of seahorses for all of you now I finally found one evening to sit down and draw.

While researching seahorse I found that some species can come in a lovely shade of orange but also shades of yellow, blues and purples. So I decided to mix up a vibrant shade of blue with the orange in this design. Since seahorses can be such a vibrant animal and come in so many variations this design can be stitched in such a variety of colours you can pick your favourites for it.

So this is a nice easy stitch for the end of summer. One of the seashorses from the pair could be used on its own for a smaller stitch or swap out the second seahorse for a collection of your favourite sea themed motifs. I may try it out with a few colourful seashells or some small tropical fish.

Hello everyone,
This weeks design was a special challenge from the lovely Shannen Wright to create a design with a lovely Wolf theme to celebrate her new book Bad Reception.

Bad Reception is a book full of supernatural elements, including vampires, immortals and werewolves  which is one of the reasons a wolf theme was chosen for this design.

To say a big thank you for inspiring this design feel free to pop over to her Facebook page and give a lovely thumbs up. :) Its a lovely page to follow with insights into writing and being creative and a few lovely pictures sprinkled along the way.

To check out this book on Amazon and read the synopsis here is a link:

I tell you what I am already quite intrigued by the synopsis and have ordered a copy to read on my summer holidays. So I'll have to tell you all about how it was when I get back
